Wheat germ is awesome!  Although I tend to lean more towards dietary uses, I am aware of its skincare benefits as well.  The little recipe shown for the facial mask is so simple and a far superior alternative to the commercial junk on the shelves.  There are no chemicals, nor questionable ingredients nobody in their right mind should ever apply to their skin.

One trick I’ve done to stay ahead of the common cold/flu (and I guess now COVID, which shares identical properties to the flu) is to take 1 tsp of raw honey, 1 tsp of wheat germ, and 1 tsp of baking soda.  I put those three in a tall glass of warm water and give a good stir.  I drink the entire glass as fast as I can because I know thinking about it will cause gag reflexes.

I’ve been practicing that method for 4 years and haven’t had so much as a single sniffle.  In late 2019, when everyone around me was getting sick due to one of the strangest flu bugs I ever saw (which we later learn is connected to COVID), I drank my concoction daily like religion.

I did not get sick.  And, making sure hubby drank it too, hasn’t been sick either.

Thank you for sharing your health tip , that is a winning combination in that drink:)

I’m so pleased to know that wheat germ is keeping you cold &  flu free !

I know, of course, that vitamin E is good for your skin and hair but I have never heard of using wheat germ oil!  I looked this up online and found that the price is very reasonable so I’d like to get some. Do you have a particular brand that you can recommend?  And where would I find dark honey for the face mask?  Would regular honey work?

Hi Cynthia

You can use normal organic honey it will also work, they recommend dark for the natural anti oxidants. I will be including links to best products to buy very soon 🙂

I tried wheat germ but a little.
I didn’t know about the help he gives in skin care.
I tried several for health, for example flaxseed oil, but I did not know wheat germ oil.
It’s an amazing health tip.
Now I realize what I read on this topic, an experienced person knows better and in detail.
Practice learns the most, and personal experiences are the most beneficial.
